Fresh New Look

 
 Spring has brought on some spiffing up around here. It was high time for a blog & website facelift. I must say the super fabulous Hope is such a dream to work with! She really helped bring it all to life. She's always so patient with my work schedule, emails and crazy questions. Really love that gal!

 
And there have been a few other improvements thanks in part to my incredible assistant Tasha! She whipped me up 7.4 different Twitter pages until the perfect one was decided on. Through the process we both noticed that if we stare at anything too long...we're gonna change it! So we try not to look at it too much. ;-)

And she also got me on "The Facebook". So now I have officially entered the 21st Century. I feel so grown up. Come by and say hello...I bet you're on it too! xo ~H

Daffodils

 
You've got to love a simple, inexpensive flower that can look spectacular in less than 24 hours! I picked up 4 bundles of daffodils at the grocery on Saturday and by Sunday morning brunch they looked amazing. To me, their sunshiney color is the welcome flag for Spring!

Stylist Secrets: The Tool Bag

  
  I thought it might be fun to show you what I carry with me to shoots. Like a grade school show-n-tell post. On location, I bring two Canvas Riggers Bags that are super tough & durable...love them! They still look great even though I've had them for years. I keep tools in one and props, paperwork & computer stuff in the other. Today it's all about the tools... 
  
Garden clippers, several flower frogs, a wire paddle and florist tape (not pictured).
Masking tape, double sided tape, assorted twine, various nails & screws.  
 A small hammer, phillips & flathead screwdrivers, bulldog clips and a spool of fishing line.
Poster tack in different widths and mounting squares. Both are great for tacking up photos or artwork and keeping picture frames or fabric pieces in place.  
My hot pink scissors so I don't loose them, a stapler, straight pins and plate & picture hangers.
A tape measure, calculator, handi wipes, trash bags and the ever important glue gun.

A few other things I bring are paper towels, extension cord, duct tape, windex, spray can of air, micro fiber cloth and a steamer or iron if needed. There's probably a few other things I forgot to mention but this is the majority of it. Hope you enjoyed a little peek into my bag of tricks! 

Catching Up

 Hello, Hello!

Wow, you guys are amazing. Really, just truly the best. Thank you for all your warm thoughts and kind wishes for my Mom. She's doing well and hopefully will be going home very soon. But we're "over the hump" so to say and on to the path of full recovery. Hooray!

Been busy as ever behind the scenes, the photo is a sneak peek at Souvenir..which should be hitting inboxes today or tomorrow. And the other half dozen projects should be wrapping up quickly. One is my website renovation, looking forward to having that finished. Oh, and I have a couple fun posts planned. Other than that, just life...which keeps us all busy!

So, what have you all been up to? Would love to hear what's going on in your life. I've been so preoccupied with mine and could use a little escape!

A Request

 
Today I'll be taking my Mom to the hospital for surgery. She'll be in for about a week and then rehab for another. I can't even begin to express how much my Mom means to me. She is the most loving, supportive woman I have ever known. Always so kind and happy to everyone. I know she's probably a bit nervous about her surgery but doesn't seem to let it show.

 It would mean the world to me if you would leave her a sweet comment of encouragemet for her surgery and recovery. Just a simple, thinking of you. Her name is Saundra. As soon as she's feeling up to it I plan on sharing them with her. Thank you in advance for your kindness.

Update: My Mom made it through surgery. It took almost twice as long as expected which was nerve wracking. But in her usual style...she was smiling and happy in the recovery room. This morning I printed up all your lovely, heartfelt comments & prayers and will be bringing a Great Big Get Well Card to her today! I know how much she will love reading everyones well wishes and it will surely help her get through her long road of recovery.
