I'm still loaded down with my to-do list. Slowly making some progress. I've been completely smitten with neutral colors lately and thought I'd share a few photos of what's been inspiring me.
What colors are inspiring you? I can imagine some of you are loving all the bright colors of spring. Now if only I could sneak away for a picnic. Maybe I should put that on my list! Have a beautiful week everyone! Smiles, H
I'm sure many of you have experienced the kindness of a fellow blogger and I know just as well that many of you share your generosity with others. That's one of the incredible things about this "small" community of Blogland. Random Acts of Kindness aren't they wonderful?
Fellow blogger Rose Carey sent me the most incredible crown pillows! I was practically speechless when I opened the box. Completely surprised by her generous gift. They are all so lovely and beautifully handmade by Rose herself. I love her use of the timeless crown graphic, burlap and a hint of ticking stripe. And I especially like the torn ruffle on the white and tan pillow. If you would like to get your hands on a few she sells them at the Rose Bowl and through her blog. I noticed she added new monogram and numbers one too! Thank you dear Rose for your warm spirit and cherished gift!

You know that song? It keeps playing in my head this week because that's exactly how I feel. Our lives are marked by moments in time and in light of my hectic (read overburdened) workload, I'm feeling very melancholy. With Sweet Girl celebrating her 18th very soon and graduating within the next few weeks I'm noticing that times are a changing. A new chapter of our lives awaits. I know many of you have gone before me and survived so I'm not worried.
The next few weeks might keep me from posting much. The newly renovated website is getting closer and closer to it's Grand Re-Opening. No date yet, but I will let you know asap. In bullet form I thought I'd share my ridiculous to-do list. Maybe it will keep me accountable and on track! We'll see....
Well, I don't think I will carry on any futher and bore you to tears. I'm sure you have a list that might look just as loaded. Did you notice there was no mention of groceries, gas, house cleaning or anything whatsoever of that nature? Maybe a magical fairy will come and help me. But in the meantime I think what must be done now is: Keep Calm and Carry On!
Party decorations were hung, yummy food was prepared, simple table decorations were made,
the Easter eggs were hidden and found,
then counted and sorted. Family relaxed on the garden swing, had a squirt gun battle, caught lizards, played a few fiercely competetive matches of croquet,
held a hilarious limbo contest, a dance off ensued and it all ended with everyone piled up on the sofas to watch a movie and nibble leftovers.
And on a funny note as to how incredible the day was....The Man said I snored so loud last night he almost recorded it. A great day indeed! And trust me, he deserves to hear me snore. After years and years of putting up with his nocturnal behavior he was due for some payback!
From my home to yours we would like to wish you a very Blessed Easter
Rather than bore you with the mundane tasks of my recent days (which includes getting my taxes done and working in my garden like a mad woman) I thought it better to share with you these quick, inexpensive and easy Easter favors I made.
Here are my supplies:
Assorted candies, rafia, rubber bands, cellophane bags, seam binding and chocolate bunnies from the drug store. Now you all know how much I love, love, love to repackage and that's exactly what I did.
And here are the simplest instructions on earth:
From there I just lined a tiered basket with moss, (noticed I didn't have enough and had to use two different kinds, no worries) added a couple flower pots filled with candy and flowers, a garden tool and a few tiny chick-a-dees. Voila! All finished and ready to place near the door for visitors! Hope your holiday plans are shaping up nicely. If any of you have posted Easter goodies I'd love to know so I can stop by for a visit.

And because I am a complete sucker for great packaging I purchased these from Cost Plus World Market:
It is non-alcoholic sparkling Elderflower juice. I've never tasted an Elderflower, let's hope it's delicious. Aren't the graphics terrific? I don't think I can go wrong because the label clearly states it's 100% Good.
So what's on your menu? Won't you please share? It's not too late for me to completely change my mind and make something you suggest. ; )
