The majority of our small kitchen update has been accomplished. There are still a few switch plates to replace, minor patching up of those wallpaper tears, painting the tray ceiling and finding a couple cute shutter doors for the pantry. Above is the view from the family room and breakfast nook. We did take down a set of cabinets that hung over the counter area and it opened up the room quite a bit.
We didn't tear down any walls or expand the size of the kitchen in any way. Rather we decided to do slight cosmetic improvements since we plan on moving in the next few years or so.
Here we have the refrigerator, pantry and small coffee station. All the appliances are GE Profile Series. Next I'll show you a few of my favorite things.
When we originally bought the house we replaced the top cabinet doors with glass fronts. It makes such a difference in a kitchen. Don't we all like to see our beautiful dishes? And The Man installed all the bead board and made the open shelves for me. This is probably my absolute favorite improvement. I love just being able to grab what I need and I'll definitely do this again in my next house.
I'm sure I'm probably leaving out some details and will try to answer any questions in the comment section. It's been quite a day trying to get these photos up. My camera was acting up because it needs service, my editing software froze about 6 times, and Typepad was giving me fits with the text. I guess some days are just like that. I hope you enjoyed peeking into my kitchen and thanks so much for dropping by!
Edited: Kitchen questions answered here in this post. Thanks for all your kind comments!
