Uncommon Objects
While in Texas we were able to squeeze in a quick trip to Uncommon Objects in Austin. The name alone is the perfect description of the wares offered by their dealers. Let's browse through and take a look. Please excuse the photo quality, I didn't want to use a flash and draw attention. If you know what I mean. Kind of like how I didn't want to draw attention during this shopping trip.
The small booths were packed with unique and unusual vintage goods. It's easy to see why this place is so popular. Their selections are so varied, from industrial and medical to romantic and feminine.
Their jewelry counter was enormous. I'm sure a girl could spend lots of time scouring every display case.
I doubt anyone leaves this shop empty handed and I bet even the husbands don't mind going here. If you're ever in the area be sure to make this one of your stops. I promise you'll love it!

Ohh...what I would love is that giant bunny over the store entrance in the last picture :-) I love it! TFS

I, too, love this shop! Brought my Chicago friends there, and to Guero's Taco Bar (two classic Austin favs) before heading out to Round Top. Great pictures!

The woman in the door of your first picture looks a tad suspicious! Ha!
I'm always inspired reading your blog.

Now that looks like an interesting shop. Yes definitely one that husbands wouldn't mind. Although I have to say my husband loves antique shops. Did you get anything there?
Hugs,
LeAnn :)

I have to agree with Chris, it's the best and seems to get better and better. I spend hours here and always find a treasure. They finally have to tell me they are closing or my husband gives me the look that he's ready to go :)

I leave in Texas, only about 4 hours I guess I need to get out more. Next time your in Texas you should check out Bandara Texas, lots of shops bring your swimsuit so you can float down the river.

By far my favorite shop in Austin, and one of the best in the country for odd finds. Look for a interview with owner Steve Wiman in the debut issue of REFUELED.
Peace & Love,
Chris
