Another Gorgeous Shop
Apparently I've single handedly managed to turn this into a shopping blog. It appears as though all I've done for weeks on end is shop, shop, shop. Trust me, it's not all I do. I've been working. Promise. And I do have plans to show you some things I've been doing that don't involve retail therapy. But for now, here's another incredible place to give away your hard earned dollars. It's called Vignettes located in the Ocean Beach District of San Diego.
The selection of gorgeous antiques are amazing. Just look at this tiara display case!
The beautiful displays are everywhere you turn. Seashells are scattered among the velvet chairs, chippy tables and French inspired antiques.
I wanted to bring this home in a bad way to put in my office for lounging. Because someday I'm going to do that...lounge...in my office. Sounds so professional doesn't it? Or maybe this would entice visitors to come and join me in my work lounging?
Of course, I came to my senses when I remembered that this would require knocking out a wall and that sounded a lot like work which would totally defeat the purpose of buying it. Moving on....
This is my friend Joy's space. It's such a wonderful spot filled with her handmade treasures, stationery, seashells and vintage goods. She called this her Mermaid Grotto, so cute!
Her petite French themed flags would be perfect on a birthday cake or cupcakes.
They have dozens upon dozens of beautiful mirrors to choose from. My shopping pal Jolee Jane bought one to take home along with a rhinestone clock and some other fantastic treasures.
I bought an antique humidor, a crown jewelry box, lots of rhinestone buttons, stationery, religious medallions and a dresser with a mirror top. Ummmm, yeah. I really should be working right now. Do you want to see all the loot I've been lugging home lately? I should stop shopping and show you some of my finds. It would be much more cost effective.
If you want to go see all this beauty for yourself they are located at: 4828 Newport Avenue, San Diego and their number is 619-222-9244. Tell them Heather sent you but don't blame me for what happens to your wallet! Smiles, H

WOW!!! What fabulous shops. So full of wonderful things. Wish i did'nt live so far away. Thanks for sharing.cathie

Heather, I have been admiring your blog and photos for quite some time and was so excited to see your photos from Round Top. You met and phtographed my dear friend Linda Marcov from Willow Nest in Texas. I had a long phone conversation with her today and your name came up (such a small world) She really enjoyed talking with you and can't say enough great things about the show and the lovely people she met. I am doing the Farm Chicks sale as well and can't wait to meet you in person.

Hi Heather,
I'm trying real hard to see you lounging in my mind. Still trying.... You busy bee. I enjoy hopping by to say hello, it's so nice on a Sunday morning instead of reading the newspaper. Your pictures are as always, a pleasure to look at too.
Love my goodies I purchased. I'm told to keep my money in my pocket but I'm not always good to obey. Hehehe. You won't tell.
Hugs dear friend,
Karla

Hi Heather, Thanks for a trip through yet another gorgeous shop! I never tire of pictures like these, filled with gorgeous junk. Surfing blogs and looking at pictures of vintage treasures is my idea of window shopping!

Ugh - do we all have shoppingitis?! I can't contain it lately! Though I can pat myself on the back about one thing, I've really cut back on ebay purchases. Why shop ebay when there are so many incredible blog shops, websites and links?! BUT the neigborhood sales and the county flea markets are in a few weeks... I'm doomed!! Blessings... Polly

Do NOT apologize for the inspirational shopping you've been doing! It's been a joy to share your journey. Besides, when I do this kind of shopping, a friend reminds me it is merely "Research and Development" for my day job. Go - and shop - in peace, dear one!

Ok, I have to go....tooo chic!
I'd much rather have shopped with you then get a cast put on! Hot Pink of course:)

Beautiful images. The blues in Joy's shop are so lovely. Is that a floor cloth in her space? It not, the floor sure does blend nicely with all wonderful items.
LOVE the photo with the white fireplace. Thanks for sharing these images...lots of inspiration in them.

It's really a good thing I live far away from all of these fabulous shops you're always telling us about. Would love to know if your friend's booth is the one with the swan dish on the cupboard shelf in the middle of photo #8. Swan was my maiden name and my mother and I collect swan dishes. Would you mind emailing me and letting me know how to get in touch with your friend if this is her booth? Love her petite flags, too. Thanks as always for the eye candy!

OMG! Thank you for this post - I recently moved to the San Diego area and have been wondering where to shop!
Posted by: edina | April 17, 2008 at 02:41 PM
I'm feeling a bit faint.... OH I would want to take everything home with me but that would mean leaving hubby on the airport and dumping the contents of my suitcase! Would it be very weird checking in a sofa?
If only I wasn't afraid of flying so much... Who knows!! I think I would need a container....
Thanks for 'taking' us shopping!
Posted by: Elizabeth | April 17, 2008 at 02:05 PM
Wow...I just saw about a million things in there I want! I REALLY love that mirror over the dresser! It's probably a good thing (for my wallet) that I'm all the way up in Northern California!
