Back To School Do's
Sweet Girl and I have been playing with some back to school hairstyles. We thought we'd show you a few using our vintage goodies. Here's a messy bun with vintage crochet lace wrapped around and pinned with a rhinestone and pearl brooch. I think this would be so cute with a summer dress or jeans and a t-shirt.
Here we loosely pulled some hair back and weaved it through a rhinestone buckle. To keep it in place we used bobby pins. I love this style, it's so feminine and romantic!
We used vintage shank style buttons in various styles and attached them with bobby pins around my pony tail. Such a fun way to dress up an everyday hairstyle.
Lastly, we used a regal military button attached again with a bobby pin to add a little glamor to loose curls. These are some styles you won't see everywhere even at a school with close to 3,000 students! I hope you all are enjoying the last tidbits of summer. Tomorrow we're off to do some back to school shopping. Don't you just love new pencils, notebooks and binders?

Love these - so charming - I'm inspired for my 6 year old daughter & her curls. Thanks for all your lovely ideas.

What a great idea! Anyone can go to the local store and get run-of-the-mill hair clips and straight bobby pins, but what you've done is fabulous! I have a 7 year old daughter and we're setting aside a day just to "pretty up our hair" because of your idea!! Your daughter is so BEAUTIFUL - Cute isn't the right word - She is gorgeous. I like them all, but I think the model, in this case, is the real treasure :)

Hmmm. Time to raid my mom's treasure box. She's 90, so she's sure to have something positively lovely for my locks. My hair has gotten long enough this summer that I can do something fun again. Thanks for the great ideas. And, I love MY Wriskey, too!

I absolutely love the style with the buckle, it is so soft and romantic with the wavy curls. How clever are these ideas you've given us. Seems to be the trend this year with the girls, Back to School Do.

Great hair ideas!
I loved your diamond ring story! I know someone who will stand and sort through every bit and bauble at every table at flea markets and elsewhere. I don't think she has ever found a treasure like yours!

Love these! I made some for myself and my daughter several years ago and we both enjoyed wearing them. But I had put them away.... so thank you for joggling my memory. I will get them out again and play!
Just found your site. It's beautiful.
